About
Since The Harvard Black Men’s Forum (BMF) was founded in the 1970s, it has developed into one of the most recognized and celebrated organizations on Harvard’s campus.
Mission
To foster a supportive atmosphere of brotherhood among the black masculine identifying community on campus and promote awareness and understanding of political, social, and cultural issues regarding black men.
What they do
- Matrix (big sibling) program connecting members across class years
- Matrix activities such as basketball tournaments and kickbacks
- David Walker Scholars Program mentoring middle-school boys from underprivileged Boston area communities
- Brotherhood Banquet for current students and alumni
- Publications, meetings, seminars, and community engagement on issues regarding black men
